Lethbridge Polytechnic will offer a new program starting next fall. Interior and Building Design Technology will teach students about design, architecture and more. The new program will merge the Architectural Animation Technology and Interior Design Technology programs. The polytechnic had been offering a three-year program to take both diplomas. The school found students who took both programs often fared better in their careers. By bringing the two programs together, the school hopes to better prepare its students for the workforce. “We found that the students that did the very best upon graduation had taken both programs,” said Brenda Bradley, School of Spatial Design Technologies chair. “And so, we started analyzing why. “And part of it was that there were some real strengths that were missing in each of the two programs, and it made sense to join them together.” This is the third new program announced by the polytechnic this year. Applications for the new program are open.
