Murdered man was confined, assaulted and choked, Lethbridge police say

Five people in total are facing first-degree murder charges in connection with a Lethbridge man's death that police call a 'targeted' attack.

Lethbridge police say two more people have been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of a man in March.

Emergency crews were called to an apartment building in the 200 block of 7A Avenue South at 6:30 a.m. on March 27.

On arrival, an unresponsive male was found inside one of the units. He was later pronounced dead.

The victim, who is not being named, was later identified as a 27-year-old Lethbridge man.

Police arrested two suspects the following day.

Police later announced a third person had been charged with first-degree murder after the search of two residences along Mount Crandell Crescent.

On Thursday, police said two more people had been charged – bringing the total number of people charged to five.

Darcy Andrew Medicine Crane, 43, Jordan Frank North Peigan, 27, Nicholas Rodney Scout, 42, Bradley Stephen Paskiuski, 40, and Emma Ryann Scott, 22, all of Lethbridge, have been charged with first-degree murder.

Police believe the victim was inside the apartment with a 22-year-old woman at the time of his death.

Investigators say in the hours before his death, the victim was forcibly confined, assaulted and choked.

“Evidence suggests the targeted attack was planned and all five subjects actively participated in the murder,” police said in a news release.

The accused have court dates set for later this month.
