Motocross coming to Calgary’s McMahon Stadium this summer

High fuel motocross action will be coming to Calgary this summer, transforming one of the city’s sports venues into dirt track full of twists and turns.

The FIM World Supercross Championship season opener will be held in the city on Aug. 8.

It’s the first time for the event in Calgary, which will see riders earn their first championship points of the year among other honours.

“Bringing World Supercross to Calgary is an important moment for the championship as we continue to build our presence in Canada,” said World Supercross Championship CEO Tom Burwell in a news release.

“McMahon Stadium is a strong venue for our season opener, and we are looking forward to introducing the championship to fans in the city for the first time.”

The FIM World Supercross Championship season will also see events in Birmingham, Buenos Aires, the Gold Coast and South Africa.

Tickets are now available and consist of $40 reserved seating, $20 junior tickets in the family zone and $150 premium reserved seating.

Additional packages are also available for fans looking for more action at the venue.
