Midway menu: 2025 Calgary Stampede foods released

From sweet to spicy and from savoury to downright strange, the Calgary Stampede has unveiled its 2025 midway menu.

More than 50 shocking delights are hitting the menu for this year’s Calgary Stampede.

This year’s menu features creations from more than 70 food exhibitors on the midway.

Some of these include Fiery Dill Coke, Mopane Worm Poutine, Fruity Pebble Korean Dog and Deep-Fried Pickle Oreos.

“Our exhibitors spend months curating unexpected dishes that you won’t find anywhere else but at the Calgary Stampede Midway,” said Ashley Warner, midway manager at the Calgary Stampede, in a release.

“The goal is to surprise, delight and satisfy every kind of craving with an unforgettable Stampede twist.”

If you’re not brave enough to branch out, officials say many traditional flavours are also available, like the Nashville Hot Chicken Mac, Lobster Tornado Roll and sticky Deep-Fried Cinnamon Buns.

The feature item this year, which was named by Stampede Insiders, is Dumpling Hero’s exclusive dish, a bao bun filled with Spam, garlic shrimp, pineapple, cucumbers and seaweed, drizzled with teriyaki sauce.

The moniker chosen for this snack from more than 1,800 entries is “Spam-pede Bao.”

“This year, we are thrilled to introduce a touch of Oahu to the Calgary Stampede Midway with our Asian fusion and Hawaiian staple creation,” said Tracy Cheng, co-owner/founder of The Dumpling Hero.

“We are excited to transport you to the beach with a taste of Hawaii through the Spam-pede Bao.”

So, what do Calgarians think of some of the wilder items on the menu, like the Mopane Worm Poutine,

“Oh, no thank you!” said Calgarian Susan Chadwick. “I would not even try that.”

However, Omar Olivares said he’d give it a try.

“Worms! Wow, that’s crazy. But OK, I can try it because I’ve done ants and worms in Mexico, so I can go for it.
