Alberta RCMP have released a photo of a Brooks man facing human trafficking offences, saying there “may be more victims.” Officers launched an investigation in February 2025 after a woman came forward to report that the man she was in a relationship with had allegedly forced her to have multiple sexual encounters with random men for money, which he controlled and orchestrated. Chad Jensen, 46, was arrested on Jan. 8. He’s facing eight charges including two counts of sexual assault and two trafficking offences. “Human trafficking can affect any community, regardless of the size or demographic,” said RCMP Sgt. Roland Misik, in a Tuesday news release. “Perpetrators of this crime seek out the most vulnerable people in society and use that vulnerability against them to gain control, not just physically but psychologically making it extremely difficult for the victim to realize they are being manipulated and exploited.” Jensen has been released on bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 11. Mounties are concerned there may be more victims who haven’t yet come forward. They’re asking anyone who may have been exploited to contact Brooks RCMP at 403-362-5535. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
