Holiday Train stopping in Lethbridge, southern Alberta locations this weekend

There’ll be plenty of Christmas cheer to go around on Saturday evening when the CPKC Holiday Train rolls into Lethbridge.

The train will arrive at 7:15 p.m. along 2nd Avenue North adjacent to London Drugs.

The Barenaked Ladies will hit the stage shortly after.

The Holiday Train is also helping to collect donations for food banks across Canada, including the Lethbridge Food Bank.

CPKC will present the food bank with an $8,000 cheque.

If you head to the train, you’re asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the food bank.

“We are mid-rollout of our Christmas hamper season, and we’ve got over a week left of delivering our Christmas hamper program to our clients here at the food bank, so this is a great time to restock some of those items that we need to help feed our families,” said Emily Beilby, Lethbridge Food Bank executive administrator.

The Holiday Train will also make stops in Fort Macleod, Pincher Creek and Coleman, Alta., on Sunday before continuing into B.C.
