Coventry Hills fire damages 2 homes, displacing 6 people

Emergency crews respond to a house fire in the 100 block of Covington Road N.E. just after 4 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 29, 2025.

The Calgary Fire Department says six people have been displaced after fire tore through two homes in the community of Coventry Hills on Monday.

Firefighters were called to the 100 block of Covington Road N.E. just after 4 p.m. for reports of a fence on fire, but arrived to find the flames had spread to neighbouring residences.

Three adults and three children were able to make it out of the homes on their own, and no injuries were reported.

Once the fire was extinguished, investigators were able to determine the blaze – which isn’t believed to be suspicious – started between the two homes.

“All occupants will be displaced as a result of the significant damage to both homes,” the fire department said in a Monday news release. “Some are staying with family while others are being supported by Red Cross.”
