Charges laid after Dover stabbing sends 1 man to hospital with life-threatening injuries

Calgary police are investigating after a man was stabbed and left seriously injured in Dover on March 23, 2026.

Charges have been laid in connection with a stabbing Monday night in Dover.

According to police, officers were called to the southeast Calgary community around 10 p.m. and found a man suffering from life-threatening injuries.

The victim was rushed to hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery.

Meanwhile, police arrested a suspect at a nearby residence.

Dakota Cody Ermine, 35, has been charged with aggravated assault as well as two counts of failure to comply.

Ermine was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.

In a news release issued Wednesday, police called the incident “very serious.”

“Thanks to the quick actions of responding officers, we were able to locate and arrest the suspect safely and bring the situation to a controlled resolution,” said Staff Sgt. Keith Shufelt.

Investigation continues.
