Two men have been charged in connection with a series of frauds carrying a total price tag of roughly $1 million. Calgary police say the incidents happened between February 2021 and June 2023. Police believe victims handed over their money “based on claims involving profitable investments, assistance securing admission to prestigious universities and the ability to facilitate Canadian immigration.” Yung-Ho Shang, alias Adam Shang, who is 55 years old, faces six charges of fraud over $5,000. Yun Hua, alias Coco Hua, who is 51 years old, faces two charges of fraud over $5,000. They’re both set to appear in a Calgary courtroom next on Oct. 28.
