Calgary fire crews battle two Sunday structure fires

The Calgary Fire Department say no one was injured in two separate fires on Sunday.

Flames and thick black smoke filled the air at about 2 p.m. Sunday on Meredith Road N.E.

The CFD says a shed and a couple of trees were significantly damaged.

In an unrelated incident at about 10:30 a.m., crews responded to an abandoned building in the 500 block of 17 Avenue S.W.

The CFD says the fire didn’t breach the exterior, but they did have to ventilate the building after if became filled with smoke.

Officials are investigating the cause of each fire.
