Calgary assault sees woman pepper sprayed in Beddington Heights

UPDATE: Calgary police have identified the man they wanted to speak with, and no longer require the public’s help in the matter. As such, the man’s photo has been removed from the below article.

Calgary police have released a photo of a man they want to speak with about an assault in the community of Beddington Heights last year.

Police say the incident started as a verbal altercation between two people and ended with a man allegedly spraying a woman in the face with bear spray.

The incident took place at a strip mall in the 100 block of Bedford Drive N.E. at 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 21.

The man allegedly left the area in a white Acura.

Calgary police say the person they’re hoping to speak with, seen in the photo released on Monday, is slim and about 5’10” tall (178 centimetres), in his early 20s with black hair and a moustache.

Anyone who recognizes the man or the Acura is asked to call police at 403-266-1234.
