Blast of winter returning to Calgary Wednesday

Winter weather will make a reappearance in Calgary on Wednesday and Thursday

Get ready for a big burst of winter, Calgary.

Wednesday will start with cloud cover and a wind chill of -5. There’s a good chance of isolated showers in the afternoon, which will switch to wet snow by the supper hours. Calgary will likely see 10 to 15 centimetres of the white stuff Wednesday night through Thursday, while communities across southern Alberta could see as much as 20 centimetres.

Thursday will be a cold one, with temperatures staying below the freezing mark.

It will also be windy at times, so blowing snow and reduced visibility at times are expected.

Once we get through this, we have a beautiful weekend ahead. By Sunday we will get into the high teens.
