A man from central Alberta is charged with possessing, accessing and distributing child sexual exploitation materials. Authorities say the Penhold man has worked with children as a soccer league coach and board member, and as a children’s entertainer and mascot. Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) arrested Scott McNabb, 46, on July 9. Computers were seized from his home. ALERT Staff Sgt. Gordon MacDonald said McNabb was identified during “a proactive effort” targeting individuals believed to be “trading high volumes of child sexual exploitation materials online.” McNabb is next scheduled to appear in court on July 30. He is not currently in custody. He is under court-imposed conditions, ALERT said Thursday in a release, “including not to be in contact with anyone under the age of 16 years old.” Penhold is located approximately 15 kilometres south of Red Deer.
