Here are the Montreal area road closures on the weekend

Though the construction holiday has begun, work on several roads and highways will result in closures in and around Montreal on the weekend.

Planning trips on a route-planning app is advisable before departing.

Honoré-Mercier Bridge (R-138)

• From Friday at 11:00 p.m. to Monday, August 3, at 5 a.m., one lane will be open in each direction on the Montreal-bound side of the bridge.

As a result, the Airlie Street access to R-138 West will be closed.

• From Saturday at 3 a.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., the right lane will be closed at the end of the Honoré-Mercier Bridge between Montreal and Kahnawake.

Commuters are strongly advised to plan trips as the risk of congestion is high, particularly for trips to the Montreal airport.

REM

There will be a delayed start to REM service.

• Saturday, service will begin at 7:30 a.m.
• Sunday, service will begin at noon.

Highway 40 East (Repentigny)

• Until Aug. 21, expect traffic disruptions on the Félix-Leclerc Expressway (A-40) East in Repentigny as part of highway paving work between Industriel Boulevard and R-341 (Louis-Philippe Picard Boulevard).

Jean-Lesage Highway (Beloeil)

• Until mid-August, the Serge-Pépin Street access ramp to the Jean-Lesage Highway (A-20) East will be closed due to the construction of a lane.

Highway 13 South (Laval)

• Until the fall, reconstruction work on a section of Highway 13 southbound between Dagenais West Boulevard and Highway 440 (Jean-Noël-Lavoie) in Laval means a traffic detour is in place.

Laurentians Highway (A-15)

• Until the end of 2027, pavement resurfacing work on the Laurentians Highway (A-15), between the Metropolitan Expressway (A-40) and the Médéric-Martin Bridge in Montreal, will cause delays.
