Bad break for courthouse collider as RCMP lay new drug charges

Calgary Police arrested a man after he rammed his truck into one of the entrances of the Calgary Courts Centre.

A 29-year-old man from Galahad, Alberta, who was charged in connection to a July 29 incident where a pickup truck drove through the doors of the Calgary Courts Centre, is facing an additional thirteen charges unrelated to the courthouse crash.

In October of 2012, the Calgary RCMP Federal Serious and Organized Crime division, with assistance from Edmonton RCMP Clandestine Laboratory Enforcement and Response Team, searched the home of Jaren Wayne Feser in the village of Galahad, located approximately 150 kilometres northeast of Red Deer.

As a result of the search, Feser was charged with:

Feser was released from custody with several conditions connected to his release.

On July 30, 2013 Feser was charged with five counts of failing to comply with his release conditions.  Feser’s release violations included:

Analysis of substances RCMP officers collected during their search of Feser’s property resulted in Feser being charged with an additional eight charges on July 31, 2013.

Feser’s new charges under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act include:

Possession of precursors which can be used to make Methamphetamine

Feser has been previously convicted of a similar offense in the U.S.
