Local kids will be able to get their trick-or-treating fix with Lethbridge police this Halloween. The Lethbridge Police Service is bringing back its Trunk-or-Treat event for a fourth year. Uniformed officers will be set up with decorated cars handing out candy to kids. They’ll be at the Nicholas Sheran boat launch, Logan Boulet Arena and the Nikka Yuko RV parking lot. The event has received great feedback from both parents and kids. “This free event is geared toward families with younger children, but all youth are welcome to attend,” police said in a release. “Come dressed in your Halloween best and join us for a monstrously good time filled with treats, costumes and community spirit. “It’s guaranteed to be a boo-rilliant evening for the whole family.” Police officers look forward to being able to have these positive interactions with the community. “It’s really just an event built around seeing families and meeting kids,” Staff Sgt. Jim Demone told the press. “We’ll have some static displays, and they can come get some candy and see some police cars and see some of our toys as well. “It’s just going to be a good night.” All three Trunk-or-Treat locations will run from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31.
