3 men face 20 charges after weapons seizure in northeast Calgary

A weapons seizure in northeast Calgary has resulted in three men facing 20 charges between them.

Police say they raided a home the 100 block of Covington Rise N.E. on Sept. 10.

They say they seized a Glock 17 handgun, an H&R Arms Company .22 calibre revolver, a 3D-printed Glock 18 handgun, a 3D-printed Glock magazine, a 3D-printed silencer and a 3D printer, as well as a replica BB gun.

This seizure is being lauded as a good get.

“Every crime gun we seize is one less weapon that can be used to harm someone in our community,” Staff Sgt. Matt Gow said in a release issued Wednesday.

Robert Cvitanovic, 55, John Wayne Kirby, 44, and Ricky Cameron Robillard-Ball, 35, were arrested in connection.

Cvitanovic is charged with:

• failing to comply with a release order (x2);
• unsafe storage of a firearm;
• possession of an unauthorized firearm;
• possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition; and
• breaching a firearms prohibition order (x3).

Kirby is charged with:

• failing to comply with a release order (x2);
• unsafe storage of a firearm;
• possession of an unauthorized firearm;
• possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition; and
• breach of a firearms prohibition order.

Robillard-Ball is charged with:

• failing to comply with a release order (x2);
• possession of a prohibited device knowing its possession is unauthorized; and
• breaching of a firearms prohibition order (x3).

All three men are scheduled for appearances in Calgary courtrooms the coming days and weeks.

Meantime, investigation continues.
