The Regina Police Service (RPS) says the possible remains discovered near Mosaic Stadium earlier today were not bones at all. In an update issued Wednesday afternoon, RPS confirmed the apparent ‘bones’ that were discovered was actually a calcified piece of metal. Officers were called to the 1700 block of Elphinstone Street just after 10 a.m. after what appeared to be bones were found by a crew working in the area. The service’s major crimes and forensic identification units did respond to the scene. RPS thanked the public and its investigative partners for their assistance.
