Ontario Provincial Police say a body was found in a vehicle parked just outside of Cambridge. Officers were called to Wellington Road 32, between Forestell Road and Concession Road 4, around 7:30 a.m. on Monday. It was initially reported as a suspicious vehicle. OPP now say the body of one person was found inside. “Preliminary information suggests this is an isolated incident with no indication of a broader threat,” they wrote in Wednesday’s media release. Wellington Road 32 has been closed since Monday morning. Police said they continue to investigate the death and warned the area will be closed for an “extended period” of time. They have not indicated how the person died. “Investigators are asking residents, businesses and anyone who was in the area of Wellington Road 32 between 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2026, and 7:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 21, 2026, to review surveillance or dashcam footage for any suspicious vehicles or activity,” OPP wrote in the release.
