10 things to do in Calgary this weekend

There are plenty of local events and activities to check out in Calgary this weekend.

Here’s a look at just 10 of the many amazing things happening around the city:

Flames vs. Blues

• What: The Calgary Flames take on the St. Louis Blues in a Saturday home opener matinee.
• When: Saturday, Oct. 11 at 2 p.m.

Hitmen vs. Tigers

• What: The Calgary Hitmen take on the Medicine Hat Tigers in WHL action at the Saddledome.
• When: Friday, Oct. 10 at 7 p.m.
• Where: Scotiabank Saddledome, 555 Saddledome Rise S.E.

Hitmen vs. Winterhawks

• What: The Calgary Hitmen take on the Portland Winterhawks in WHL action at the Saddledome.
• When: Monday, Oct. 13 at 1 p.m.

Screamfest

• What: Screamfest has seven different haunted houses for attendees to check out – including Zombie Outbreak, the most extreme on the list. Aside from the haunted houses, there are also rides, monster trucks and a midway of mayhem.
• When: 7 p.m. to midnight on Friday, Oct. 10 and Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025.

Harvest Pumpkin Fest at Butterfield Acres

• What: Butterfield Acres hosts Harvest Pumpkin Fest, a chance to find the perfect pumpkin, take a pony ride or a ride through Scarecrow Alley.
• When: Friday, Oct. 10 and Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025.
• Where: Butterfield Acres, 254077 Rocky Ridge Rd. N.W.

Pumpkins After Dark

• What: Pumpkins After Dark lets visitors walk along a pathway of lit pumpkin sculptures and displays featuring more than 10,000 hand-carved jack-o-lanterns.
• When: Until Oct. 31, 2025.

Haunted Mini-Golf

• What: Calgarians are encouraged to dress up in a Halloween costume when taking a swing at WinSport’s Spooktacular Haunted Mini-Golf.
• When: Until Oct. 31, 2025.

Halloweekends at Calaway Park

• What: Dress up in a costume and head to Calaway Park for Halloweekends, featuring a family friendly display of Halloween-themed scenes through the south side of the park.
• When: From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays until to Oct. 14, 2025.

Dial M for Murder

• What: Theatre Calgary presents Dial M for Murder, directed by Jillian Keiley. The play is an adaptation of the classic Alfred Hitchcock thriller.

Echo by Cirque du Soleil

• What: Watch Cirque du Soleil perform Echo, a family friendly show that melds poetry, stagecraft, technology and acrobatics.
