1 dead after assault in Woodlands, Calgary police say

Calgary police were called to the 2100 block of Woodview Drive S.W. for reports of a serious assault on May 6, 2026. Investigators say at least one person has died.

Calgary police say a person has died following a fight in the southwest community of Woodlands.

At 5:40 a.m. on Wednesday, police were called to the 2100 block of Woodview Drive S.W. for “a serious assault.”

Police say one person has succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

Investigators believe the incident was a targeted attack.

A section of the road has been shut down from Woodhill Court to Woodpark Boulevard S.W. for the investigation.

A strip mall at 523 Woodpark Blvd. S.W. has also been closed.
