Child taken to hospital after crash between scooter and vehicle

A child was hospitalized in stable condition Friday after being struck by a vehicle while riding a scooter in northeast Calgary.

An investigation is underway into a collision involving a vehicle and child on a scooter in northeast Calgary.

Police responded just before 6 p.m. to Castlepark Way N.E. near Castlepark Road N.E. where the incident took place.

Police say the child who was struck sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to hospital in stable condition.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area while police complete their investigation.
