A U.S. child choked on a piece of a toy. Now it’s being pulled from Canadian shelves

A children’s toy has been recalled Thursday due to a choking hazard, according to Health Canada.

MÖBI, which is distributed by Mobi Games Inc. of Toronto, announced a joint recall with Health Canada and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission for its “Zippee Activity Toy,” after discovering that small spherical ends on the silicone toy could pose a danger to children.

While no injuries or incident has been reported in Canada as of Oct. 21, the company said one child in the U.S. reportedly vomited after choking on the small spherical ends.

The recalled product is described as a teal-coloured silicone cylinder with six silicone strings threaded through holes in the body of the toy that can be pulled, the recall notice said.

Five of those strings have small spherical balls attached to the end of the string.

According to the recall, the impacted toys have date codes from 030620 to 110823 marked inside the silicone cylinder body of the toy.

It warned that one recalled batch was manufactured without a date code.

“The MÖBI Zippee Activity Toy is not suitable for children under 18 months,” the recall said.

The company reported that 13,583 units of the affected products were sold in Canada between November 2019 and September 2025, while 117,500 were sold in the U.S.

Consumers are being urged to immediately stop using the toy. The recall requests that toy owners cut off the strings with small spherical ends, take photos of the cut pieces and the date code, and then upload them to the company’s website to receive a full refund.
