Wasaga Beach Provincial Park’s fall update: What’s open, what’s not

As summer fades into fall, Wasaga Beach Provincial Park is adjusting its operations to accommodate the changing season.

According to a recent social media announcement from the park, several beach areas will remain open to visitors until Thanksgiving Day on October 13, including Beach Areas 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6, as well as New Wasaga Beach Area, which is located at the east end of the provincial park across the Nottawasaga River from Beach Area 1.

Beach Area 4 has now closed for the season.

“Our gate attendants have finished work for the season, however visitors are still required to pay for a parking permit,” the park stated.

Visitors can still purchase parking permits in advance by visiting the Ontario Parks reservations website or by calling 1-888-668-7275. Parking permits can also be purchased on-site at the New Wasaga Beach Area.

The Nancy Island Historic Site is now closed for the season.

The Park Office remains open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for any visitor inquiries or concerns. Park officials are asking visitors to be patient and respectful of the maintenance teams as they complete their work.
