Two vehicles hit by rocks thrown on Hwy 35, one person injured: OPP

One person was injured after rocks were thrown at vehicles travelling on Highway 35 in Kawartha Lakes.

One person was injured after a disturbing incident on Highway 35 in the City of Kawartha Lakes that prompted a police investigation.

According to Kawartha Lakes OPP, two separate vehicles travelling on the highway were struck by rocks on Sunday in the vicinity of Waites Road in Pontypool, a community in the southern most part of the city.

Police say a passenger in the second vehicle suffered facial injuries above their eye after a rock crashed through the windshield. No one was reported injured in the first incident.

“Incidents of this nature are taken seriously,” provincial police stated in a social media post.

The OPP emphasized how dangerous this type of reckless behaviour can be. “The injury could have been much worse,” the service noted.
