Police in Innisfil are looking to identify two teens accused of a robbery outside a retail business earlier this week. South Simcoe police say the teens, thought to be about 16 or 17 years old, allegedly approached the complainants and directed them to walk to the back of the building. “One of the victims was pushed up against a wall and had his jacket taken by one of the suspects, while the second victim managed to get away to seek assistance and contact police,” police stated, noting the suspects then fled the scene. Police did not provide the ages of the complainants, but did say they were released to their parents. No injuries were reported. The incident reportedly happened in the area of the retail plazas on Jans Boulevard and Innisfil Beach Road Monday sometime between 1:15 and 1:40 p.m. Officers canvassed the area for video surveillance and is appealing to the public for help in the case. The first suspect is described as a Black male, standing five feet 10 inches to six feet one inch tall, with a thin build, and medium length hair with dreads. He is described as having worn a blue surgical mask, grey sweatpants and a black jacket. The second suspect is described as a Black male, standing around six feet four inches tall, with a medium build, and medium length hair with dreads. He wore grey pants and a grey hoodie. Police note the suspect wasn’t wearing a face mask, but did cover his face during the incident. Anyone with information, including surveillance footage, is asked to contact police.
