Town offers grant to help eligible residents maintain their properties

Eligible Caledon residents struggling to keep up with yard work, primarily seniors and people living with disabilities, can apply for a grant program that is now in place to help lighten the load.

The Town says an Outdoor Maintenance Assistance Program offers $500 to eligible residents who need support maintaining their property throughout the year.

The funding is aimed at low-income adults aged 65 and up, those 75 and older regardless of income, as well as low-income residents with disabilities.

The program aims to help people manage routine outdoor work, like snow removal in the winter or yard care in the warmer months. The Town says the assistance is meant to help residents live independently at home and keep their properties well maintained.

Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements to qualify for the $500 grant. Those who do may choose a local service provider to carry out the work and use the funds to cover costs.

Residents are advised to apply as soon as possible because demand could be high.
