Road reopens after serious crash at Dunlop Street West intersection, Hwy 400 ramps

A morning rush-hour collision at Dunlop Street West and Cedar Pointe Drive forced the closure of Highway 400 ramps in Barrie.

Barrie police were called to a serious motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Dunlop Street West and Cedar Pointe Drive early Tuesday morning.

Officers arrived on the scene around 5:19 a.m. and closed off the main intersection during morning rush hour.

The collision forced the closure of the on-ramp to southbound Highway 400. The northbound off-ramp to westbound Dunlop Street West was also shut down for several hours.

The Ministry of Transportation assisted police with blocking the highway ramps during the investigation and cleanup.

Authorities told CTV News that multiple injuries were reported, although the extent of them remains unclear. Drivers were asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes during the closure.

The area has since reopened.
