Prime spots to watch the Snowbirds over Midland Bay

The Canadian Forces Snowbirds are set to thrill audiences with an aerial performance over Midland Bay on Wednesday at 5 p.m.

Residents and visitors looking for prime viewing spots have several excellent options in Midland. According to the Snowbirds’ recommendations, the best places to watch the show include:

• Edgehill Park
• Rotary Waterfront Trail
• Town Harbour
• Midland Bay Landing
• Gawley Park
• Pete Pettersen Park

However, spectators should be aware that safety precautions are being put in place.

A marine advisory has been issued for Midland Bay from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the day of the show, restricting vessel traffic to ensure the safety of both the public and the airshow pilots. Emergency services vessels will be patrolling the area.

For those planning to watch from the water, a reminder that access will be restricted between Midland Point to the north and Tiffin Bay to the south, on the west side of the entrance to Midland Bay, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. All vessels are advised to stay clear of this area during the specified time.

Additionally, the airspace will be restricted, and flying drones or radio-controlled aircraft is strictly prohibited in the area during the show for safety reasons.

Spectators are encouraged to wear ear protection, particularly for children, for safety reasons as the roaring of the jets overhead can be quite thunderous.
