Police continue search for Georgian Mall robbery suspect

Barrie police are searching for a suspect who allegedly stole cash from a mall kiosk, assaulted a bystander who confronted him and fled.

Police in Barrie are continuing their search for a suspect involved in an alleged assault and robbery at Georgian Mall.

According to the Barrie Police Service (BPS), officers responded to a report of a robbery at the shopping centre just after 10 a.m. Friday morning.

Police say they were told by witnesses that a man took cash from a kiosk and assaulted a bystander who confronted him.

He then allegedly fled through an exit toward Stanley Street before making his way toward Bayfield Street.

As of Saturday, the BPS still has photos of the suspect online. He appears to have thick dark hark and a thick beard, and he appears to be wearing an orange jacket and dark pants.

Witnesses or anyone with additional information are asked to come forward.
