Officers with Barrie police and South Simcoe police carried out a drug search warrant at a residence in Barrie earlier this month, resulting in four arrests. During the raid at the John Street home on Dec. 6, officers seized more than a pound of cocaine, half a pound of fentanyl, and over $3,500 in cash. Police say one suspect tried to flee by climbing out of a rear apartment window, but was quickly nabbed by Nitro, a nine-year-old South Simcoe police K9 dog. “The only thing quicker than making a poor decision is our K9 team’s ability to crack it,” said police. “Another dynamic situation brought to a safe resolution.” In total, four suspects were charged with drug-related offences.
