Orillia man charged with possessing child porn, misuse of a military uniform

An Orillia man is facing child porn charges after police launched an investigation into the misuse of a military uniform and medals.

On Monday, provincial police say they were contacted by representatives of the Canadian Armed Forces and the Royal Canadian Legion about a man wearing medals that were not awarded to him at local parades.

Officers launched an investigation and executed search warrants at a home and business belonging to a 62-year-old man. Police say they seized several items, including a military uniform and medals.

Officials say they also discovered items related to accessing and possessing child pornography.
