OPP officers issue nearly 75 charges over 3-day blitz on Highway 10

If you were driving along Highway 10 over the weekend, you might have noticed a stronger police presence than typical. Provincial police officers were out in force, conducting a traffic blitz aimed at keeping the roads safer during the busy holiday season.

OPP issued 74 provincial offence charges over the three-day blitz from Friday to Sunday. Police say most of these were for speeding, plus one stunt driving charge.

Four R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) programs along Highway 10 were also set up, checking for impaired drivers.

Dufferin OPP is urging everyone to “make smart choices behind the wheel. Slow down, stay alert, avoid driving impaired, and always buckle up. These actions save lives.”
