The cloudy skies are clearing, and the temperature should be just perfect for a night - not just under the stars - but the big screen. Downtown Barrie BIA’s Lawnchair Luminata outdoor movie series is hosting the last movie of the summer tonight. What else would be played after such a fantastic summer but Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps (2025) at Meridian Place. The movie begins at dusk, around 9 p.m., with a rain date of Thursday. The Fantastic Four: First Steps shows Marvel’s iconic superhero family in an action-packed adventure filled with humour, heart and spectacular visuals. Featuring Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm, the film offers the kind of big-screen spectacle made for summer nights outdoors. “Lawnchair Luminata is one of those simple summer traditions that really captures what downtown Barrie is all about: people coming together and enjoying our downtown and waterfront,” said Richard Tremblay, Downtown Barrie BIA board member. “Seeing families and friends arrive with their lawn chairs and blankets and turn Meridian Place into an outdoor theatre is special. We’re excited to finish the season with a movie that families of all ages can enjoy together,” Tremblay said. Things to Bring:
