A new service offers a way for pets and their owners to experience their last moments together in the comfort of their own home. Veterinarian Jenna Shivers launched ‘Loving Legacy,’ an in-home service offering a convenient and stress-free alternative to traditional clinic visits, which can be traumatic for pets nearing the end of their lives. “It’s not just a sad day, it’s a joyful day because we’re telling funny stories and realizing it’s a beautiful thing to continue to carry on,” said Shivers. Shivers said she has been privileged to hear many touching stories from pet owners during these times. ““That’s the legacy of the pet that we continue, even if they are physically gone, they are still here with us,” she said. Loving Legacy aims to ease the emotional burden on families by offering compassionate end-of-life care tailored to the needs of both pets and their owners.
