Police: motorcycle sale turns into alleged robbery attempt

When the driver and friend arrived at the location to sell his motorcycle, they were boxed in by the suspects who tried to pull them out of their vehicle.

Barrie Police say a motorcycle sale turned into an alleged robbery attempt, resulting in charges for three men.

According to police, the incident happened Thurs., May 7, in the area of Mapleview Drive West and Essa Road, a location pre-arranged by the victim and potential buyers.

Police say when the victim and a friend arrived on location, they were boxed in by the suspects, who then tried to remove them from the vehicle.

The victim was able to escape and drove directly to police headquarters and sought help.

Police say within an hour, they located the suspect vehicle just as it was entering Highway 400 Southbound from Mapleview Drive.

A 25-year-old Barrie man and two men from Brampton, aged 31 and 35, were arrested and charged with attempted robbery.
