With milder than normal temperatures, it might be a long shot to start thinking about the snow flying but one local resort is already getting skiers and snowboarders ready for the upcoming season. Snow Valley Ski Resort is marking 75 years of welcoming winter enthusiasts to its slopes on Saturday with an open house and its annual ski swap. “This is a kick-off. The first Saturday in November every year we do have our open house and it’s accompanied by the Canadian Ski Patrol ski swap, so it gives people an opportunity to see all the new things we’ve done at Snow Valley as well as pick up some new and used gear from the swap,” Snow Valley General Manager John Ball tells CTV News. The swap is an opportunity to purchase gently used and previously loved ski and snowboard equipment. The resort will also have a cake cutting and presentations at 11 a.m. Guests can take a scenic chairlift ride, hay wagon ride, mini snowtubing slide, take in live music and enjoy sweet treats. Plus, the resort is offering an anniversary price for the zipline of $7.50. The swap will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Sunday.
