Keep Life Wild Radiothon hits the airwaves to support RVH: How you can get involved

The annual Keep Life Wild Radiothon hit the airwaves to raise $111,000 for RVH.

It’s Giving Tuesday, a great time to raise money to help keep health care closer to home.

Once again, our partners at BOUNCE 104.1 and Pure Country 106 are hoping the community will give generously with a 12-hour event Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. to raise $100,000 to support local health care.

The fundraiser is part of Royal Victoria Regional Health Care’s (RVH) ongoing Keep Life Wild campaign, a major effort aiming to raise $100 million for expanded services, new technology and improved patient spaces across Simcoe Muskoka.

The radiothon isn’t just about hitting a dollar amount, it’s about the difference those funds can make, from shortening wait times to reducing hallway medicine and helping more people stay in the region for treatment instead of travelling elsewhere.

A major boost this year comes from PureHealth Pharmacy, which has committed to matching all donations up to $50,000. For donors, that means every dollar contributed goes twice as far toward improving local care.

“This is our moment to rally together as a community,” said Mary-Anne Frith, chair of the RVH board of directors and the Keep Life Wild Campaign.

Throughout the broadcasts Tuesday, residents will hear stories from patients whose lives were changed by treatment at RVH, and how donor funding played a role in their recovery.

Organizers say Giving Tuesday has become a key moment in the yearly fundraising calendar, marking the start of the holiday giving season and reminding residents that even small contributions can make a meaningful difference.
