Help name Orillia’s snowplow

Orillia is preparing for snow ahead of schedule, by asking residents to name an important member of it’s clean-up fleet.

The city’s Name the Plow contest has returned and as the name suggests, residents are asked to pitch “creative names” for one its snowplows.

The city’s Winter Control team will select five names out of the submission pool and the final name will then be open to a public vote in July.

Residents are asked to submit names shorter than 20 characters or no more than three words long. Names of individual person will not be accepted, nor will trademarked names, nor names that are deemed inappropriate or offensive.

Names that have previously won the contest, such as Catch my Drift, Plowasaurus Rex and Ctrl+Salt+Delete are also deemed ineligible.

After being selected, the name will be painted on the plow for the winter season.
