Gravenhurst man charged in child pornography case

A search warrant executed at a home in Gravenhurst led to a man facing child pornography charges.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)’s Muskoka Crime Unit, with help from the OPP Digital Forensic unit and the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation unit, seized several electronic devices from a home on McEachern Lane in Gravenhurst.

On February 4, police arrested and charged a 43-year-old Gravenhurst man with:

• Two counts of importing, distributes, sells or possesses for the purpose of distribution or sale of child sexual abuse and exploitation material
• Possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material
• Two counts of accessing any child sexual abuse and exploitation material

The accused was released at a bail hearing and is now scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on March 3.
