Goodlife Fitness wants to make sure teenagers in Barrie never have a reason to say they have nothing to do this summer. GoodLife Barrie is opening the doors to its 42,000 square foot facility to kids aged 12 to 17 to encourage them to get into fitness. “We see a lot of parents coming in with their children and it’s a really great way to build stronger bonds and connections while embracing a healthy lifestyle,” says General Manager of Goodlife Barrie, Alanna Kirley. “We’ve seen members go from Teen Fitness members to regular members consistently while absolutely crushing their fitness goals and really develop those healthy habits, so it’s been a game changer and a life changer for so many people,” Kirley tells CTV News. Exercise equipment, classes and more are available for free during the summer, including one complimentary training session to help those who may be new to working out. Students can drop in any time between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. until Sept. 8. Goodlife has run the free program since 2010. The Goodlife Teen Fitness Program does not require a parent membership, just parental consent.
