Provincial police say a drug trafficking investigation launched in the fall ramped up on Wednesday with a search warrant and an arrest in Adjala-Tosorontio. According to police, members from several street crime units, along with tactical response and K9 units raided a residence on Bayberry Drive early in the morning as part of the trafficking investigation. Police say officers searched the home and seized cell phones, a money counter, four scales, $6,146 in cash, two visa card not registered to the accused, and packaging containing traces of suspected cocaine. A 26-year-old local man was charged with possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, trafficking in cocaine, and possession of proceeds obtained by crime over $5,000. He is set to appear in court to answer to the charges next month.
