The City of Orillia is removing 25 transit stops from its scheduled service next month. Starting Feb. 1, transit stops located along the North, South, Laclie, and Georgian routes, along with West Ridge via Coldwater Road and West Ridge via Old Barrie Road, will no longer make all station stops. Council approved this change to help improve route timing and overall service efficiency. “Stops selected for removal were identified based on low ridership and their proximity to nearby stop,” stated the city in a Tuesday notice. The city’s transit map shows all of the decommissioned locations taking effect. The black dot shown on the map indicates unavailable stops starting in February. Notices have also been placed at the physical locations to alert riders. If you have any questions about your ride or stop, the city asks that you contact transit@orillia.ca or 705-325-3975.
