Both drivers hospitalized in motorcycle-car crash

Barrie police are investigating a crash between a car and a motorcycle Saturday evening that sent both drivers to hospitals.

The crash occurred at around 8 p.m. at Lakeshore Drive and Minet’s Point Road. A Barrie police spokesperson said it appeared that the car was making a left turn when it collided with the motorcycle.

Police confirmed that the motorcyclist was hospitalized locally and then taken to a Toronto trauma centre.

The other driver was also hospitalized after reportedly sustaining minor injuries.

The intersection was closed until 2 a.m. as the Barrie police traffic unit worked on the scene.

The investigation remains ongoing.
