Barrie man, 29, found dead after Highway 400 rollover

Police are investigating a deadly Highway 400 crash just north of Barrie near the Highway 11 split on Wednesday morning.

Police say a 29-year-old Barrie man was found dead after a vehicle was reported on Highway 400 in Barrie on its roof Wednesday morning.

According to provincial police, a 911 call came in shortly after 7 a.m. notifying officers about a vehicle on the northbound side of the highway, north of Duckworth Street near the Highway 11 split.

The OPP K9 unit was called in to search the area to ensure no other occupants had been in the vehicle and possibly left or been thrown during the collision.

Police say they have confirmed no one else was present.

Partial lane closures were in place for crews to repair the damaged guardrail near the collision and to remove the vehicle. The area reopened shortly before 4 p.m.
