Alleged sexual assaults reported days apart at Island Lake Conservation Area

Police are investigating two alleged sexual assaults that happened just days apart at Island Lake Conservation Area in Orangeville.

The first incident was reported on Sunday around 1 p.m. Investigators say a 29-year-old woman was approached by an older man who made ‘unwanted physical contact’ with her.

A second woman, 28, reported a similar encounter on Tuesday around 11 a.m., indicating that the man also made ‘unwanted physical contact’ with her at the conservation area.

The suspect is described as a bald South Asian man believed to be between 50 and 60 years old.

Investigators believe these two recent incidents may be connected and are asking anyone with information to come forward.

Officers say patrols have been increased around the conservation while the investigation continues.
