30 years of playing the lottery finally pays off for Thornhill man

Kenneth Beraznik of Thornhill told OLG he’s been playing the lottery for over 30 years.

Putting in all that time (and money) has finally paid off.

Beraznik won $100,000 in the Pick 4 Encore draw, saying he always adds encore to his tickets.

But he said he didn’t start playing the Pick 4 game until only recently. He said he liked the odds of that game.

On first look, he thought he had only won two bucks.

“I was checking my tickets manually and thought I won $2 — I didn’t realize I won big at first. When I found out, I was so happy. It feels good!”

Beraznik says he’ll use some of the money to pay off bills and the rest will go in savings.

Encore has 22 ways to win, two draws each day, and can be played with many lottery games for an extra dollar.

The lucky ticket was bought at Petro-Canada on Yonge Street in Thornhill.
