Man arrested, charged in drug trafficking investigation in Richmond: P.E.I. RCMP

One man has been arrested, and drugs and weapons were seized in a drug trafficking investigation in Richmond, P.E.I., according to police.

Prince District Joint Forces Operations executed a search warrant at a home on Route 2 around 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

According to a news release Friday, police arrested 34-year-old Eric Macleod Johnston for possession for the purpose of trafficking a Schedule I substance.

Officers also found and seized:

• approximately 45 grams of fentanyl
• close to one ounce of methamphetamine
• half an ounce of cocaine
• a pellet gun
• a 12-guage shotgun
• ammo

Johnston has been charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, as well as four weapons-related charges. He has been remanded into custody and is set to appear in court again on Wednesday.
