Rise and shine, Woody: Nova Scotians invited to wake up famous talking Christmas tree

As Nova Scotians pack up their Halloween decorations, an icon of holiday cheer is preparing to awaken from his long slumber in front of a crowd of admirers.

Woody the Talking Christmas Tree is set to have his annual wakeup event at the Mic Mac Mall in Dartmouth at 10 a.m. on Nov. 15. People are encouraged to wear their pajamas and greet the giant of festive joy, according to a news release from the mall.

Woody made his long-awaited return to the mall in 2021 after he was last seen in 2006. He’s drawn international attention and even garnered a shoutout from late-night talk show host Jimmy Fallon.

The wakeup event will feature members of Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency, along with Santa Claus. There will also be balloon artists, music and face painting.
