A popular beach in the Halifax area is closing to the public a month early this year for parking lot construction and water system work. Nova Scotia Parks says Rainbow Haven Beach, which is located in Cow Bay, will be closed starting Sept. 8. According to the parks website, the beach is typically serviced until Oct. 14. The park gates will be closed and access to the area will be restricted during construction. The construction work will include parking lot upgrades to improve vehicle circulation and improvements to the water and septic systems. The core washroom facility will be upgraded with extra storage space for lifeguards. “During the closure, visitors are encouraged to go to Lawrencetown Beach or Martinique Beach to the east,” Parks Nova Scotia says. “These improvements will make Rainbow Haven Beach more enjoyable for years to come.” For more Nova Scotia news, visit our dedicated provincial page
